Macpex hosts fleet-wide process safety standdown
Every offshore and onshore team paused operations for a coordinated 4-hour session focused on barrier management and human factors.
By Rafael Mendes, HSE Manager
On 22 April 2026, Macpex ran a synchronised process safety standdown across all active rigs, project offices and onshore support functions. More than 640 personnel participated.
Focus areas
The session centred on three themes drawn from the last 24 months of internal and industry learning: well control barrier integrity, permit-to-work discipline during simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), and the role of human factors in hydrocarbon release precursors.
Outcomes
Each site delivered a written commitment log. Common actions included refresh training on kick-drill sequencing, a review of override permits on emergency shutdown valves, and adoption of the OGP fatigue risk index on 21-day rotations.
