Mark founded Macpex after nearly two decades as a drilling engineer and rig manager in the Gulf of Mexico and North Sea. He built Macpex around a simple principle: every project should be led by engineers who have actually stood on a rig floor. Today he sets the company's strategic direction and keeps technical accountability at the center of every decision.

Under his leadership, Macpex has delivered 50+ offshore well campaigns, expanded into subsea intervention and rig integrity, and built a safety culture measured by a 0.14 TRIR across company-managed operations.

Mark is based in Sydney, Australia, where Macpex is headquartered at 173 Arthur St, Homebush West NSW 2140.

    2014 – Present

    Sydney, Australia

    • Founded Macpex in Sydney to deliver engineer-led offshore drilling and subsea services.
    • Built the company from a single rig-integrity consultancy into an Asia-Pacific project delivery organization.
    • Led 50+ offshore well campaigns across the Asia-Pacific, North Sea, West Africa and Middle East.
    • Established Macpex's safety culture, achieving a 0.14 TRIR across company-managed operations.

    Asia-Pacific Deepwater Contractors

    2008 – 2014

    Perth, Australia / Asia-Pacific

    • Managed drilling engineering for a fleet of semisubmersibles and drillships operating in 4,000–10,000 ft water depths.
    • Delivered HPHT and managed-pressure drilling programs on time and under budget.
    • Introduced real-time wellbore stability monitoring and digital twin workflows.

    North Sea

    • Designed complex deepwater well architectures for North Sea chalk and Paleocene reservoirs.
    • Led well control and kick-management response for high-pressure exploration wells.
    • Championed BOP reliability programs and subsea intervention planning.

    1999 – 2003

    • Started offshore as a drilling engineer on jack-up and semisubmersible rigs.
